Here we celebrated the II Free Culture Days: on March 29 and 30, 2023, at the URJC Management Building, a very special event for our OfiLibre, where professionals, students, and researchers came together to promote Free Culture.
We had interventions of all kinds: from the opening of the event by Vice-Rector Mercedes del Hoyo Hurtado to guest presentations like Marc Bria’s from UAB. Not to mention the breaks, coffee, and the fair!, a space with 10 stands, to walk among creation and research with free licenses.
We also had workshops introducing free software (Zotero, OJS, Libre Office,…). And, additionally, teachers presented their outstanding open assignments. We even had a free dramatic reading, courtesy of the URJC theater group, Arrojo Escénico!
And, of course, there were moments of laughter, as a dinosaur would occasionally appear on stage, warning those who were running late that they needed to wrap up. In short, the event brought together professionals with projects of all kinds, some even from other parts of the world, like Ítalo Vignoli, who came to talk to us about LibreOffice from Italy.
These II Days have been a very enriching exchange space, and we want to thank all the people who participated. On to the third!
