Arduino

Arduino is an easy and affordable way for beginners and professionals to create devices that can interact with their environment through sensors and actuators. Arduino is open-source hardware. The reference hardware designs are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 2.5 license and are available on the Arduino website. Schematics and component assembly files (PCBs) for some board versions are also available. Although the hardware and software designs are available under copyleft licenses, developers have requested that the Arduino name be exclusive to the official product and not be used for derivative works without prior permission. Most Arduino boards consist of an 8-bit AVR Atmel microcontroller (ATmega8, ATmega168, ATmega328, ATmega1280, ATmega2560), each microcontroller having various amounts of flash memory, pins, and functions. The boards use female header pins in one or two rows, making connections and integration into other circuits easy.
