Notes on Statistics 2 (Video-classes)

Process

  • Material selection: The material design is based on the contents collected from the teaching guides of the subjects. Here, I used a wide collection of manuals to articulate the videos of prestigious authors (Martín-Pliego, Casas, Newbold, Peña, etc.), and especially, notes from colleagues from previous years, such as Professor Don Antonio Franco Rodríguez de Lázaro (University of San Pablo) and Ms. Pilar Ordas Amo. Additionally, material with Creative Commons licenses was used, such as Wikipedia content. All links to the used material can be found in the videos themselves.

  • The audio/video design was done using Apple’s proprietary software Logic Pro and Final Cut X, with an academic use license in my name.

  • Process and generation of free material: The main difficulty was the process of reorganizing the contents with a coherent teaching discourse, the time needed to design the slides, record the classes, and subsequent editing. This workload allowed me to discover YouTube’s comment platform as a “feedback” from users to improve and adapt future versions. This material was developed during the first wave of the Covid pandemic as a solution to the lack of possibility of face-to-face classes.
