A-Frame is a technology designed to facilitate the use of WebVR (virtual reality in the browser). It provides an HTML extension that allows defining 3D objects and scenes in the browser, which are perceived as virtual reality when using suitable devices, such as Quest, Vive, Rift, Daydream, GearVR, Google Cardboard, Hololens, or even the desktop or mobile browser itself.
This workshop will present an introduction to A-Frame technology and its use for creating simple HTML5 applications that allow virtual reality immersion in the browser. In general, the materials available in “Some notes while learning A-Frame” will be followed. Basic knowledge of HTML and programming will be convenient to follow the workshop. Having knowledge of JavaScript programming will be beneficial, but the workshop is designed so that it is not essential.
The workshop will take place in person at a Linux laboratory of the ETSIT on the Fuenlabrada campus. During the first part, we will work with the laboratory equipment’s browser and a code editor. During the second part, Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 devices will be used, so that all attendees can experience virtual reality immersion in the scenes built in the first part.
- Location: Laboratory 3.210, Building III, Fuenlabrada campus of the URJC
- Date: Monday, November 29, from 16:00 to 19:00.
To attend this workshop, it is necessary to register in advance on the URJC event site.
