From the Office of Free Knowledge and Culture (OfiLibre), we want to share that we are working on a new free MOOC designed for the entire university community. Thanks to the help of María de Guzmán, we are developing this online course that will address key topics such as free culture, open science, free licenses, free software, and open data.
The course will be structured into six thematic blocks, which will include videos, reference texts, and practical activities so that anyone can learn about and apply the principles of open knowledge in their daily university life. Our goal is to offer a clear and critical introduction to the legal, technical, and ethical aspects related to free culture, as well as to provide tools to promote its use in our academic environment.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, managed by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), within the call for the development of open science infrastructures. This support is allowing us to advance URJC’s commitment to open science, both from a technical and educational perspective.
As we already announced on our website, URJC was one of the universities selected to receive this support in its first edition, which is helping us improve resources to manage and disseminate research results, as well as strengthen training and awareness around free culture.
Although the MOOC is still in development, we are very excited about this project that we hope will help build a more open, collaborative, and responsible university community.
We’ll share more details very soon 🙂
